A note about the committment:
Tickets to the final performance will be available for $5. (Performers will be allotted two complimentary tickets to the show).
As you consider signing your child up for this opportunity, please keep in mind the time commitment. It is important that students attend all rehearsals and the final performance for the success of the program. Frequent absences may result in students not being able to be in certain numbers or their part potentially recast and given to another student should absences become too excessive.
Students on Stage is a performing arts partnership between Tacoma Little Theatre (TLT) and Swift Water VPO to provide musical theater education and performance opportunities for your students. The traveling artistic staff of TLT comes to Swift Water to teach and rehearse your students, parent/school volunteers provide the behind-the-scenes support, and family, friends, and community members can attend the student performance at the end of the program.
TLT is committed to providing an arts education environment that will allow students to thrive regardless of their backgrounds. TLT does not cut students from the program. We do still audition for roles within each production, but all students enrolled are cast in the show. Our belief is that if a student wants to be involved in theater, they get to have that opportunity. Theatre is a discipline unlike any other activity. It challenges students on every level; mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically. By the end of the rehearsal process, students will be excited to show off the hard work that they have put into their show.
If this sounds like a good fit for your student, and they are able to commit to ALL rehearsals and production dates and times, please sign up soon as spots are limited.
