Popcorn Fridays

To help keep our monthly popcorn poppin’, we’re seeking a small contribution from each family. A suggested donation of just $10 per family will help us cover the cost of delicious popcorn for the entire school for the whole year! Regardless of contribution, every seal will receive popcorn on popcorn day.

Why Donate??
The students love receiving this special treat once a month and your donation will ensure that every child gets to enjoy popcorn!

What if my child can’t have popcorn?
The VPO will provide an alternative like pirates booty or a small toy for those students who can’t eat the popcorn.

How do I pay?
Just click the red popcorn picture and enter the amount of your popcorn donation. Please include your student’s name!

How do I volunteer?
A popcorn shift is usually from 9am – 12pm on Popcorn Friday. Click HERE to view the signup genius, where you can choose any days that work with your schedule. Can’t make it the entire time? Just specify your availability in the comments section. Thank you for your support!

Where does the money “go”?

One of the biggest questions asked about VPO fundraisers is, “Where does the money raised actually go?”

And we are proud to share a list of what we support:

Community Events

  •  Fall Carnival
  •  Popcorn Days
  •  Movie Night
  •  Staff Support
  •  Meet the Teacher Night
  •  Parents’ Cheers & Tears Event

This is an area we are always working to expand. We want to create those fun traditions for our children that we had growing up and support programs that cultivate a sense of community.

Scholarship Fund

In February 2023, our lovely staff started the fund by hosting a staff “Soup-er Bowl”. We want to contribute as well and see this fund grow year over year allowing us to support Swift Water students after high school graduation.

School Extra

Every year we make a contribution to Hands on Art and to Stand Up for Peninsula Schools. These contributions help pay for the materials and training needed for Hands on Art and the campaigning for Stand Up for Peninsula Schools. We also have a fund for enrichment/field trips that ensures every student gets to participate.

  • We purchased the school’s Salmon Tank and pay for the maintenance supplies.
  • We help fund the 4th grade rocket project and continue to support science programs in our school.
  • We fund things like Reading for Success and Kindness Bingo to encourage students in these areas with some fun prizes.
  • We fund the 5th grade moving on ceremony last year and plan to help again this year.
  • We also provide support booths/activities for Cultural Night, STEM Night and Inspiration Night.

Staff/School Requests

We receive many requests over the course of the year from staff and students. Here are some ways the VPO provided financial support over the last school year:

  • Purchased a die-cut machine for the school.
  • Gave each teacher a stipend for their 2024-25 classroom supplies.
  • Provided prizes for the Seal Slips
  • Provided undergarments, socks, and pants to the Health Room, accessible for all students in case of an emergency or weather related accident.
  • Helped cover some of the Camp Seymour costs
  • Got lockers for very appreciated paras
  • Had the Reptile Lady visit the school

Overall, our goal is to continue to grow each year by adding more events and gifts in the areas detailed above.

We look forward to continuing to make financial gifts throughout the 2025-26 school year.
